It’s great to see Spring has finally arrived! After such a long and miserable Winter we can look forward to longer days and brighter weather (hopefully). As Mother Earth begins to reawaken and show signs of new life, it’s only right that we should celebrate the people who gave us life – Mothers! Whether it’s Mum, Ma or Mammy, First time Mom or Great-Grandmother, stepmom, foster mum, mother-in-law or Godmother we want to celebrate them all.

Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in Ireland since the 17th century and traditionally falls on the 4th Sunday of Lent. This year it is happening on March 14th. As with so many occasions over the past 12 months this year’s celebration will be a little different due to a certain virus.

So we can’t take Mom out to dinner but she’d love to have dinner cooked for her at home. Make her feel special by creating a restaurant type atmosphere in her own kitchen. A few candles lighting, her favourite music playing and a cocktail to start the evening off.

It will be especially hard on anyone who is unable to see their Mom or Gran on that day but sending them something nice in the post will be sure to brighten their day.
